Meet Ms. Chelsea
Chelsea Wong, a devoted cellist and educator, discovered the cello at the age of 6 and embraced the Suzuki method as a dedicated student under the instruction of Rick Mooney for 12 years. This early immersion set the stage for a lifelong connection to the instrument.
Chelsea’s academic pursuits led her to earn a bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from California State University of Fullerton, where her talent flourished under expert guidance. Eager to deepen her understanding and pedagogical skills, she pursued further studies at Ohio University, culminating in a master’s degree in Cello Performance and Pedagogy. Chelsea’s dedication and talent were recognized with full scholarships at both institutions, and was also granted the I. Shutkin string scholarship at CSUF.
Throughout the years, Chelsea has taught community youth orchestra, string methods, baby music classes, cello group lessons, instructed various public schools, as well devoted time to numerous private students guiding them to their fullest potential. As a certified Suzuki teacher, Chelsea is wholeheartedly invested in cultivating a love for music in her students and nurturing budding talents. Her journey has not only been one of personal growth but also a commitment to passing on the legacy of Suzuki techniques. The Suzuki Method is a unique approach to music education, emphasizing early childhood learning, aural training, and active parent involvement. This innovative method has significantly impacted the way children learn and appreciate music.
The Suzuki method
I inspire higher learning with the usage of the Suzuki method to create a bond between parent, child, and teacher.
I strive to build a supportive community that allows students to grow with like minded students. The Suzuki Methods incorporates early childhood learning, aural learning, as well as parent & teacher practice support to provide the best learning environment for your child!
Semester recitals, cello group classes, as well as chamber works will be available to your child to step outside of their comfort zone! Daily practice, listening support, as well as group class will draw out the potential of your child.
My experience with the Suzuki Method has shaped my teaching. I believe that every child deserves a teacher who is reliable and invested in their personal growth and well being.
